Queen's Road Medical Practice
Formed in 1992 by the amalgamation of the long established Albany and Grange End practices, Queen’s Road Medical Practice is one of the three primary care practices on the Island of Guernsey. It operates from two surgeries - one at Queen’s Road in St Peter Port and the other in the ‘country’ at Le Longfrie in the parish of St Pierre du Bois. Both surgeries are situated in pleasant surroundings and offer good access to the disabled with ramps and wide entrance door-ways.
All of the doctors practise traditional family medicine but also have their own special professional interests.
In addition to the fourteen partners and the Practice associates, the Practice employs locum doctors (who provide consultations when doctors are on holiday, courses, or other leave), nurses, physiotherapists, an acupuncturist and a dietician together with management and administrative staff. Independent counsellors are also available. In total, the Practice employs over 50 staff who endeavour to provide an excellent service to patients and other stakeholders.
The Practice is committed to the principles of good clinical and corporate governance and undertakes continuous programmes of clinical audit and risk assessment. The Practice's principal objectives are:
- To provide a comprehensive range of primary care services to the community of the Bailiwick of Guernsey and to visitors, in a caring and efficient manner.
- To encourage all patients, wherever possible, to see either their own family doctor or a regular alternate who knows them.
-
To provide patients with value for money in all Practice activities.
The Practice Manager is Mr Chris Wakefield who together with Assistant Practice Managers Ms Mandy Regan and Mrs Gill Quigley will be pleased to provide further information or deal with patient suggestions, comments or queries.
